Sarn Helen (15 miles)
From North wales head south to the Brecon Beacons and then into Ystradfellte.
Park in the Poth yr Ogof car park. At the bottom of the carpark turn right then left onto a bridleway.
Follow this up to the junction and keep right. Follow the track to the road.
Turn left onto the road descend and then climb up onto the moorland.
At the top turn right onto a narrow lane then drop down into the picnic area. Head out of here up into the forest.
Turn right over the cattle grid onto the forest track keep on here for about 2 miles.
You will see a gate to the right. Go through here and climb up keeping next to the forest.
The track is waymarked so it is easy to follow. When the track drops down to the ford, go through the gate opposite and climb to the next forest.
Follow the track into the forest and out again to the road. Turn right and drop down the road until you reach a sharp left turn with a track on the right.
Be careful here, the track is quite loose. Follow the track and start climbing.
After about 1 mile you will see a gate at the top, go through and follow the track left around the righthand side of the crag.
If your going the right way you should be able to see an old firing kiln. Follow the track on down to the gate.
Over the gate and keep on the track until you reach the road.
Onto the road and turn right by the pub carry on for about 1 mile and the turn left back to the carpark.
