Gospel Pass (15 miles)
Head towards South Wales and aim, on the map, for Hay-on-Wye.
You need to find a village called Velindre. By rail you would go to Abergavenny and head north for 15 miles into the Wye Valley.
From the lay-by in Velindre, head down and fork right into the village.
Turn right again and head down the lane and take the second right again and up to the end.
You'll see a couple of gates at the end, go through these and climb up the open grass track and then undulates to the top.
Stay on the main track then drop down to the farm.
Keep on past the farm take the Bridle Way to the left about 500m on.
Follow this for a while around the hillside until you join the road then start climbing.
When you reach the top of the pass turn left onto the track and drop down to the stream.
Stay left at the stream and go around the back of the woods and down to the road.
Turn right at the road and continue accross the fords until you reach another Bridle Way an the left.
Follow this until you reach the tarmac section. At the T-junction turn left and head back into Velindre.
