Erw Goed (23 miles)
Follow the directions to Coed y Brenin but head for Penmaenpool after dolgellau and then onto Erw Goed.
From Erw Goed Farmhouse drop down to Mawddach Estuary cycle path and follow it east along to the George III Hotel.
Cross over the toll bridge then go left and head for the Bontddu Hotel about 1mile on the right.
Climb up the tarmac road, cross the Afon Cwm-Llechen and continue along to the road ahead with a sharp left-hand bend.
Look for a gate in the corner by a wall and begin to climb the rocky switch-back.
At a large milestone, bear left and follow the track over more broken ground and across river crossing.
Go past the well and you'll reach a track crossing. Go up the grassy climb and head to the summit of the ridge.
Now descend on the track, down to a bridleway junction near Pont Fadog.
Turn right and follow bridleway above Afon Ysgethin. At Llyn Erddyn, you change direction and head north-east to a track junction.
Go left and drop down to the stone bridge.
Ride back to the track junction you just came from and now climb the steeper track up to the main ridge.
Descend down the Braich. This is an excellent downhill which will test your skills but be careful of gates.
At the road ahead follow the singletrack lane and go back over the bridge to Penmaenpool and into Erw Goed.
